This is probably the best KitKat ROM for the GT-N8013 that I have tried.. !!:good: Kudos.

I have tried several versions of the stock Sammy TWiz ROms, and other ones. This ROM is very smooth without the lag of the stock ROMs, which makes using this ROM so un-stressful. Transitions are so smooth, the keyboard is super fast, and one can really move around zipping through this ROM... Great job !!!! :good::good:

My humble opinion... The interfaces are so professional and look and feel of the ROM is A-grade.. That's a far cry from even Sammy stock.

I sincerely hope the minor force closes get fixed, though they do not affect my daily use...

Looking forward to updates!!

Just wanted to share my battery with everyone. Idle has been awesome with all radios running. Gsam has me at .2% per hour when idle. I would have posted the stats from there but it reset the log when I switched to ART. Thanks for the awesome rom! This is on the wifi only note

Site down?

I clicked on the "Carbon Faq" link and failed to connect. Googled "carbonrom" and tried the "carbonrom.org" site from both Chrome and FF browser and it appears the sire is down. Is anyone else having this problem? I'd like to try this ROM but don't want to do so without first reading the faqs.

Yeah sorry, we currently have problems with our servers HDD. It died. We currently are in contact with the hoster to get it replaced.

Performance FC

The faq site is still down so I'm can't check if this is has already been addressed. I get an FC when I click the "Performance" button in "Settings". My antutu benchmark with this ROM is a little lower than what I had with Gnabo. I'm not complaining but wanted to check to see if there was a difference in the performance settings.

I'm also having a problem with the digital clock widget. I drag it to the home screen and it takes me to the settings for the widget. I click the "Weather" button and it tells be the auto location needs to be enabled but it has already been enabled. When I click "Done" in the settings, it exits and, immediately the "weather" portion of the widget disappears and I left with only the clock.

I had read through the thread, and see that the tabs under Carbon Fibers has a bug and doesn't show up everytime.. Do you think there will be a fix for this in the future? I love the rom, but for me, they don't show up more than they do show up.. Thanks for working on the rom for us!

If they don't show up, close the settings app and then open it back up and go straight to where you left off. This gets me there 9 times out of 10.

It's a free Android L by tung91. The icon is a gear in the play store. There are a couple visual glitches in the settings with the theme but not enough to bother me. It looks great on my Carbon S4 too.

The theme's icons need work, since when I installedn they looked fuzzy like they were image 'copies'. The carbon icons are crisp and professional!

Are you talking status bar icons like wifi and battery cuz I've noticed those are a bit fuzzy? I didn't apply the L app icons cuz I use the "coconut" app icon theme for Nova launcher...

Actually the app icons themselves. I did not know you went "coconut" with those!!?
I did not even look at status icons, because the app icons looked like they were rehashed copies or something.... It would be nice to have the L icons done nicely ...know of any other theme?

Thanks for the reply.

The settings FCs are known issues. Don't know when a fix will come...but don't need them at all.

Re the weather and location...yes it does not do auto locate...just type in city and live with it for now I guess...?? No biggie for me.

Is HDMI dock EVER going to be fixed in KitKat....?? I mean its an advanced feature of this device, but cannot use it anymore.... Not blaming Carbon, but just wishing aloud.

Great standby life on this rom. Lately I don't charge it often and coupled with the ds battery saver lasts close to 15 days without charging.

    About Carbon

CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.

Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub. and on our Gerrit CarbonDev Gerrit.

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.

Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.

    Support

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:

    1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.

    2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ

    3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.

    4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

    Who is Team Carbon?

    Find out here:

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

-Tabs sometimes do not show up in CarbonFibers

    GENERAL MODIFICATIONS:
-Crosscompiled using SaberMod 4.8 (Rom) and SaberMod 4.7 (Kernel) which promises some performance boosts and better batterylifetime.

New Build is up. Contain Chromecast Screen Mirror Ability together with MirrorEnabler and Contains MultiWindow. Swipe Left in Recents to launch app as MultiWindow.
Oh and from this build on you are able to update using CarbonDelta. So flash this build and you can update to the next one using Delta.

I've also been having this issue @first I thought it was a themes issue as it was updating but when I did a clean reinstall without any themes added it kept reoccuring every time I left the tablet to update itself. Would a new build love this as I've had to revert back to omni as I use g+ a lot.

    Sent from my GT-N7100

Yeah, I'll make a new Build as soon as we rebased our actual MultiWindow Commits so I can test with this Dirty Unicorn Patch.

Does the carbon rom updates features work?

Starting with the Next build yes.

    wow, incredible.

First, my .tk domains (I have 2) got transfered from dot.tk to freenom WITHOUT my knowledge and then they even disabled the myself5 domain, accusing me I would have cheated on them (dunno what I did, I use the other domain for exactly the same things, just on a different server) and so they blocked the domain lol. I'll defenetly ask them now what they think this **** shall be lol.

In the meantime you can find the build over here:

(This is my FTP server on 000webhost, they never ever complaned about something like this BTW)
