[Q] [q] noob rooted htc one 4.3 ota question
I acquired this rooted HTC One a few weeks ago running Google Play edition 4.2.2, the About phone screen shows the following info:
Baseband version: 4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01L
Kernel version: 3.4.10-gd6f147e pali@wulfgar #1
Build number:2.14.1700.15 CL211149 release-keys
And on my SD card within the download folder, there are files named:
which I assume are the files that enabled the root and its current 4.2.2 state.
Well, a few hours ago, I got this notification that a 4.3 update is ready to be installed!
After hearing about how Google Play HTC Ones were getting 4.3, I was excited and mystified - as I thought rooted devices wouldn't get OTA update, so I pressed go. A step or two later I was confronted with a TWRP (?) screen! I kinda sorta panicked.
As I readily admit, I've read about TWRP, odexed or deodexed ROM, but I've never flashed or rooted any of my phones before, the TWRP screen asked me to do things I have no clue about, so I powered the phone off, and powered it back on, back to 4.2.2.
I'd love to get back to that update, and get 4.3 on my phone, but like a mirage in the desert, it's gone.
Wondering if anyone else ran into similar scenario, but more agile than me and succeeded in attaining 4.3dom?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
