Hi all,

I have a SGS gt i9003 phone which I bought it from Tanzania, east africa.
The fw settings are as follows...

model : gt i9003
firmware version : 2.2.1
baseband version : i9003JXKA4
kernal version : 2.6.32.9/root@SE-S606#1
build no : FROYO.JVKB1

The phone went slow after a couple of months and also I was getting a lot of force close errors.
Then I thought of updating the fw to GB.

First I updated the fw to JPKP5 2.3.4.
(also did wipe factory reset & cache partition)
The phone worked fine for about 2-3 hrs, then it took a restart.
Then I went for DDKP2, the phone updated fine but after sometime it again restarted.

Then I went through a series of GB fw updates like....
XXKPE, XXKPH, JPKP5,XXKPM, XXKPN, DDKPI, DDKP2....
But my phone is continuously restarting after update.....
For all of this update, I did a factory reset & wipe cache partition from recovery mode. But still no luck.....

Then I thought of coming back to froyo 2.2.1
The first time I looked for froyo JVKB1 but couldn't get it.
So I did it with DDKB2.
After the update, the phone is stable and there was no restart.
But I am facing a lot of force close errors even after the factory/cache partition wipe.

From lot of forum search I came to know that my phone was having a fw JVKB1, which was released only for Africa & Middle east regions.
But the problem is I cant find JVKB1 or any fw which is for africa & middle east regions.

Can anybody help me to get a fw froyo/GB for africa & middle east regions....

Can anybody help me solve this issue with my phone....

Thanks.......

And flashed ddkp2......

Waiting for the result....

Normally it takes 2-3 hrs for the first restart.

So I will get back to you with the result...

K... Luk into it and inform... Gud luck

No man, no luck.

My phone is restarting again......

What I did is flashed xxkpe 2 times using odin v1.83. xxkpe files are as follows.....

PIT – latona_20110114.pit,

BOOTLOADER – APBOOT_I9003XXKPE_CL409735_REV08_user_low_ship.tar.md5,

Phone – MODEM_I9003XXKPE_REV_00_CL1041909.tar.md5,

PDA – CODE_I9003XXKPE_CL409735_REV08_user_low_ship.tar.md5,

CSC – GT-I9003-CSC-MULTI-OXAKPE.tar.md5

With Re partition, auto reboot & f. reset time selected.

All the 5 files together.
And flashed 2 times.....

Then flashed with ddkp2 only 1 time with the following file.

PDA - I9003DDKP2_I9003ODDKPH_I9003DDKP4_HOME.tar.md5

WIth auto reboot & f. reset time selected.
After it, I did a wipe factory reset/ wipe cache partition from recovery mode.

The phone was working fine for about 3-4 hrs. Then started restarting......

This is the correct procedure? Or should I do anything wrong?

Thanks.....

PDA – CODE_I9003XXKPE_CL409735_REV08_user_low_ship.tar.m d5,

CSC – GT-I9003-CSC-MULTI-OXAKPE.tar.md5

With Re partition, auto reboot & f. reset time selected.

And flashed 2 times.....

Then flashed with ddkp2 only 1 time with the following file using odin v1.0

PDA - I9003DDKP2_I9003ODDKPH_I9003DDKP4_HOME.tar.md5

WIth auto reboot & f. reset time selected.

2. then press reset button and select four files pda, modem, csc, bootloader and flash it.
3. again enter into download mode
4. again flash with 4 files re-partition unchecked.
5. then flash with ddkp2 re-partition unchecked.

Hey just 2 things,
When I flashed with DDKP2, after odin process completed, phone will restart and there will be some update package running on the phone automatically.
Then I found 1 error its showing.....

Applying Multi-CSC….
Installing Multi-CSC
Can’t access to ‘/system/csc/KOR/system/’.
Successfully applied multi-CSC

Is this normal???

And another thing DDKP2 is the latest & stable version for sl i9003 right???

in my experience flashing, the only time you have successful access to csc during flashing is when you actually flash the csc, in other words, for kpe. since flashing others on top of that is only flashing the pda, nothing in the csc should be changed, so "unable to access it" should be ok, and hasn't caused a problem for me with phone functionality.

Guys, I think my i9003 is not compatible with GB.
It started restarting again now :(

May be it will support only african fw version.
Because it was having froyo 2.2.1 JVKB1 when I bought it from the store.
And JVKB1 fw is africa & middle east fw.

Or may be my phone is locked.
How to know whether its a locked phone or not?

Otherwise I dont know whats the problem.
But my phone is taking continuous restart now.
I did a wipe factory reset/cache partition from recovery mode again.
But still no luck.....:(

Any suggestions???

I think I should go back to froyo.....

I had the same issue as you. Went to the Samsung Service Centre. Problem with the motherboard. They had to replace the handset.
