Wait, total noob question...Sorry.
So I'm rooted already and have my recovery on the latest version, and have a custom ROM (cyanogen)..
I don't need to update anything with this do I? This is only for people who haven't rooted yet correct?

Click the trackball to "press enter". The power button functions as a back button in Clockworkmod recovery.
My phone goes thru several reboots, then comes up to the ClockworkMod Recovery v2.0.2.4 menu. I was able to do a nandroid backup. But on the unrevoked3 install screen, it says "Communications with phone unexpectely interrupted. Try again. I've ran it 3 times now. So, am I rooted or not?
Sorry to post here my question is about the eris tool. I did not find this posted in the eris section. Do i download the tool for the desire? if so when i start the tool it says communications with phone interrupted . try again

Hmmm... I just noticed that I have absolutely nothing listed under my Superuser app. when I run it. It is just a black screen with "superuser permissions" printed at the top. Everything installed just fine...or at least it appeared that way.
Any ideas ? (I'm new to the Android OS)

If you have not used an app that requires su it will be blank

1unrEVOked had updated their recovery to v3.1 to solve the windows / connection problem. UnrEVOked will also be releasing S-OFF very soon.

New ClockWorkMod Recovery of v2.5.0.5 can be custom flashed with v3.0 and under. This is NOT needed if you use unrEVOked v3.1 as it is built it:
1) Download
http://koush.tandtgaming.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.5-inc.img
2) DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR PHONE
3) Run unrEVOked v3.1
4) Under FILE choose CUSTOM RECOVERY
5) Point to the img file
6) Plug in your phone1

Look just three posts above yours for the answer. The reason: in its present status, Unrevoked roots froyo only. There are no root methods for 2.3.4 on the Inc.1how do i get back to froyo then? no wonder i have been so frustrated searching everywhere as to why i couldnt get unrevoked3 to root my gfs phone. and right after i posted a question in the q&a section to
