Thanks, but it didn't help. Maybe the swappiness is too low. I also remember that at some point Cyanogen Builds didn't work well with swap - maybe this is the case. I also don't see much difference when JIT is enabled/disabled.

Is there any permanent way to change swappiness? I see that the new kernel has vm swappiness set to lower values, which is one of the possible reasons to get launcher reloads. How about VM Heap size - does it affect the killing of the home app?

I have cos ds running without swap here on my G1.
Runs uber good and home stays in memory.

What are your settings? Which home app are you using?

Using ADW-Ex

CPU: 245 min 595 max
Compcache: 18% (still testing with this)
Jit: Off
Dithering: Off
Allow purging of assets: Yes
Home in memory: Yes
MMS in memory: Yes
VM Heap: 16m

Lockscreen: Lense

Also I have only 2 homescreens, with 7 rows..
3 widgets and deactivated app names under app icons.

Ok. Thanks. I'll try with those settings.

P.S. Does anyone know how can I permanently set the swappiness to 40?
Can I do it with an userinit.sh and where do I put it?

Here screenshots for the adw setup and lockscreen.
And I think this locker is better for memory than the other lockers..

how would i do that exactly? and which market can i install because i can only seem to find marketupdaters. link would be appreciated

Basically, on your computer, adb install path/to/app.apk
You can use it to install your file manager of choice. Which market to use? I've tried SlideMe and Amazon, but Amazon gives you some paid apps for free :3
For everything else, I use the Google market, but you're gunn a have to figure out how to get that working if you don't have it.

Hm there are some fixes for Magpie, going to have to build another later today, but this should be "working"

Everything works great on new build except there is some issue with the notification pulldown bar stalling and sticking. And swipe down action on adw will not pull bar down on notification. Also what happened to compact carrier label option? I liked that option.

I don't know if any one has noticed but the headphone connect/extender thingy no longer works. When you plug it in, the headphones icon is not shown and audio is not redirected to the 3.5mm jack. The button on that stopped working on earlier cyanogen builds I believe.

+ TitaniumBackup,S2E,Gallery(2D),RomManager,Maps(v5.1 Tiger versions cache on sd and vector maps included)
    - RomUpdater, Gallery3D (its ok for general use, but its UNUSABLE once you have many pictures, i will provide a flashable zip to swap the normal Gallery though)
12 Feb 2011 Had to rebuild RC1 since i was missing some GL updates(http://bit.ly/dUK5AO & http://bit.ly/fkqDy6 , also was a issue with my kernel, atm im using Terrys kernels in this build, removed the default Para4 which had no reason to be there :);Added Wireless Tether application.
12 Feb 2011 Full wipe update, more fixes, added Wallpepers, fixed the Rom Updater Repo, this can be used to update the rom as well, next update won't be a full wipe i think.

Some good news, manage to fix the build gesture bug, the ADW FC thingy and Pacman shows apps names instead of com.... stuff, maybe others things were affected by this issues :)

    update in a little ;)
    5
    how do i install this?

    recovery?

i installed it via recovery and its just stuck at the first boot screen.

    any help?

Yes, like any other rom. If you have issues give more info though! Should have no problem with a G1, flash the rom, and get the recovery.log (adb pull /tmp/recovery.log recovery.txt) and upload it here.

    @ThdDude

"line" would be to much to say, just a GB rom which might be stable enough and fast enough in due time
    4
I read several threads -- skimming a lot, but still stopping to reread when there was a hint of something important. I decided to jump in.

QUESTIONS, so I can understand (and knowing these would have helped me make the jump sooner, so maybe they'll help others):
    1. So, as I can understand, this is a kernel that requires a radio of 2.22.27.08 or newer, so the 2.22.28.xx series is simply a newer radio, not necessarily a bad one for the ROM, right?
    2. And as for the SPL, I've read a few threads, but I must have missed why the 1.33.0013d (S-ON!!) is better than 1.33.2005 (S-OFF). Seems the version number and the S being OFF would mean it's newer/better, but apparently it is not? I realize the 0013d is a hack of the MT3G SPL, but then, so was 2005, wasn't it?
    3. Does a kind of changelog exist somewhere that I might have missed that would explain what the differences are in the SPL and Radio that we can read up on them and not be so noobish? I don't consider myself a noob, and have been flashing custom ROMS since January 2009 (earlier, on other devices), and when I come to stuff like this and can't find answers, I feel like I've missed out on something painfully obvious somewhere.

HTC has not given us a change log.. so we don't have one.

Of course most of your answers are in the 2708+ thread:

    == Important Information about 1.33.0013d ==
A not quite so perfected SPL

1.33.0013d is based on the new 1.33.0013 released in the MT3G ota and allows access to the additional memory provided by the new radio. The original SPL however was very unfriendly to the Dream; and being a perfected SPL left quite a bit to be desired.

1.33.2005 is btw an unmodified engineering SPL (ie. has full fastboot access).. originally launched on the sapphire but also since tested on the dream; and used for the larger /system size.. it really matches the default layout of rogers dreams so its and most 1.33.* SPLs work on both devices. (not always with an optimal partition layout)

Somewhere HTC has a 1.33.2013 SPL that is the same as 1.33.0013 with the same full fastboot access. But it has not been leaked to us.. If we had that one (and not the 1.33.2005 Crios re-named) we could successfully boot the 2708+ kernels and keep the fastboot commands.. Unfortunately with the fake 1.33.2013 on most google results we may never find the real one if its not posted front and center.

Currently you have a choice on the dream:

    1) use 1.33.2005 and not be able to boot 2708+ kernels thus loose the extra ram
    2) use 1.33.0013 and have a small /system and /data and no fastboot but 2708+ kernels will boot.
    3) use 1.33.0013d and have a slightly larger /system + /data partition than 1.33.2005 gives + some fastboot access + 2708+ kernels.

For dream users this simplifies to keep 1.33.2005 on the older radios.. or install the newer radios with 1.33.0013d. most froyo+ roms are too large to fit on the unmodified 1.33.0013 and its harder to fix your phone if something goes wrong.

(and yes 2.22.27.08 and 2.22.28.25 both work with the 1.33.0013d SPL.. no change log exists.. these are unmodifed for HTC.. but 2.22.28.25 is on the latest version of all froyo 2.2 magic OTAs world wide.. 2.22.27.08 was only on an older version of the TMUS 2.2 MT3G ota. Most have also found better battery with 2.22.28.25)
