I'm loving it as well: may be subjective but I felt like scrolling, bootup and shutdown were all a bit faster on JW5

Polaris Office ???

If I open docs (xls, doc, pdf) in Polaris Office, I get the following message (in the middle of the screen, which cannot be removed):

I have install Anim Mod an app to change transition animation . And it is showing me that Busybox is not install.
Do i need to install busybox manually.

Went back and flashed JW5: boot up, boot to recovery, scrolling all definitely faster than JW6 for me. Touchscreen also more responsive.
Tried flashing the dialer fix though but it doesn't work for JW5.

Any chance of a fix? I'm staying with JW5

with the DarkCyan V11 JW5 I am getting reboots tried other kernel (Galaxian, Dark Core 4.6 etc...) but still have the bug.
Im Back to Amestris Version 10 | JW4 | ODEX | NoWipe very stable and no problem at all ! This will be the Last ROM for my SGS1 coz I just got my new SGS3 !!!

Please let us know some more details with regards to your user experience when going from SGS to SGS3, my current contract (with my SGS) is almost ending, and I'm not sure if I should go for SGS3 or HTC OneX for my next device...??? :confused:

I am facing random freezing of my phone. In this situation my phone screen remain black and startup sound appear and i have to pull the battery out.
As u have told me i have tried different Kernel cf-root, darky Kernel but result are the same.
There is no define pattern of freezing or rebooting. It can happen while watching videos , while listing music , or even while pressing any toggle in status bar.

I think this problem is not due to semaphore kernel because i haven't read anything related to this problem in any other rom thread like gamez rom etc.

please try to fix this issue.

And one request

can u change the call pickup screen also just like call dialer . (call accept or reject screen)
call accept and reject tabs are in dual color and is overlapping with the text and it doesn't look very nice. Can u make SGS2 Style Call Receive.

I'm gettin the error 'com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly'

Readed about something related to replace the Phone.apk. Question is, which one?

I'm loving this Rom and not planning to change because of this.

Nope. Not a thing. Just installed my apps (like ex Contacts & Dialer), but this one doesn't change Phone.apk

EDIT:

I'm using the port for I9000B. Some devs translated language to PT-BR and used the kernel for I9000b

Other people using this port are not facing this problem. Strange.


Tried wipe/factory reset but didn't work

ok, that's true, because the signature is changed by me, sorry for now it just work on my rom and other rom that have removed signature controller .

as i told my rom is on beta yet, i have no time and very busy. sorry.

    if you dont have a 2.3.6 Rom, please install it at first ,then follow this steps

    1-Install the kernel with CWM support, [Semaphore Kernel]
    2-Copy the "Amestris_rom_xxx.zip" into your phone storage.
    3-goto "Recovery Mod - CWM"
    4-Select "Install Zip from sdcard" , and select the "Amestris_rom_xxx.zip"

    Q: What's the Lagfix? do i need to enable it?
    A: Samsung use the "RFS" file system on partitions. the RFS has a low speed on writing or reading files,[Low Buffering], we change the partitions to "EXT4" file system, for better speed and smoothing more. with RFS we may have lag when working on high loads applications. for removing the lag from phone, we convert it to EXT4.

    your phone get reboot, and will partition your device with "EXT4" partition.

    for disabling the lagfix, Select" Convert to RFS"

    A:You can use any deodex app over any odex rom, but you can't run an odex app over another odex or deodex version.

    Q: How we can install deodex app over odex rom?

    For example we want to change the keyboard to another version.

    The default Samsung's keyboard's is AxT9IME.apk.
    Every keyboards uses own lib [Library-file] file.
    The lib file for AxT9IME.apk is libXt9core.so , and located in /system/lib folder.


    1-We must remove the previous data at first,
    Go to /system/app folder and remove the AxT9IME.odex and AxT9IME.apkfile.
    you will receive an error when AxT9IME.apk is deleted, if you don't want to get error, just remove the AxT9IME.odex file and leave the AxT9IME.apk.
