Very good news indeed! Lets not forget that when Quarx first got CM7 to boot it was nothing more than a useless Rom with almost NO functionality. This is a huge step in the process. IT BOOTS :) I just hope the awesome dev's here can overcome all the obstacles that stand in the way. GOOD JOB EPSY

Great!

Now we can see some 4.0 awesomeness on an awesome phone!
Does anyone know what triggers the 4.0 build to show the tablet interface instead of the mobile one ? It would be interesting to see how it looks on a small screen, just for kicks.

Downloading the repository just to take a look :). There is a todo list?

yea, hmm the repos is not fully ready... i used ics_device_motorola_jordan, which is not in the same path for a good reason :p (duplicates)

im preparing the cm9 repos, but cm team also make weird changes :( which can break all on each commit :p

Just awsum. XDA developers are slap on manufacturer's face.

Google also said that nexus one too old to get ics update and we are getting it on our defy.

Go go go best of luck.

Edit: bdw did u boot it on the froyo kernel?

you should keep a clean AOSP also, since in cm9 will be lots of changes. When cm9 starts to stabilize then you can merge your already working (i assume:) ) AOSP build:)

    maybe a new hope :

+nadlabak: Epsylon3: I've got it! SGX PVR 1.8 running despite the locked milestone kernel :D
    41
yes, like for CM10 ... JB is a kind of Cleanup of ICS which was very experimental.... Its always better the second time, but not all features are merged yet in main CM repos... but almost all...

So we are making a common repo for Defy and Defy+ also, and only this version will have official support... CM9 is already dead ;p
    41
I suppose the image means that the hack in the DEFY's kernel to replace the PVR code is a success. Damn... I was hopeful, but this is beyond expectations! Great job devs!

To be honest though, I'm not in a hurry to jump to ICS, it still has many bugs that don't exist in CM7.2, like some issues with the Data connection and WiFi issues I've been reading here in these forums. Maybe by Fall or Winter this year it will be stable enough for picky users like me ;).

I was expecting problems, but no, that solve almost all problems without any other change !

I think CM9 will be replaced by CM10, like Froyo after Eclair ... Time will tell us
