[Q] S3 Black/blank screen after artifacting.
Just wanting some help and pointers with this one....
I have had my S3 for about a year now, in that time It has been repaired about 3 times, All under warranty, all for legit reasons. (its had the mainboard replaced twice)
About 3 weeks ago, I noticed the screen was a bit discoloured. (brighter on one side and darker on the other) over the period of an hour it got worse and worse, screen started flashing single colours (RED, GREEN, BLUE, and purple......) after it did this for a while it then eventually just went black... The phone is still fully functunal, charges, answers calls (If i swipe where you normally would to answer calls), and still plays music, (after guessing where to press on the screen to start up music)
I have taken it to the repair centre,(Vodafone) and they had it for about 2 weeks, before they finally decided to get back to me, and say its not under warranty because its been water "damaged" They have justified this via the little stickers (water indicators) on the back of the phone has changed to a very very very slight purple (hard to tell really). and wanted to charge me $300 to get it fixed. I have then rung Samsung direct and talked to them about the issue and assured them that is has never been exposed to water, and they have said to reject Vodafones quote, and to send it into them. And they will check it for water damage and fix it.... if its under warrnaty still.. if not they will also just charge me to fix it..
Now.... my question is... Should I just be getting a new screen for this and installing it myself?
Could it possibly be another mainboard issue...? (would not surpirse me)
Should I send it into samsung to fix, even tho they may also claim its not under warranty....?
