i know this is really noob but how do i apply this to my phone i read but dont understand

I am the same way I just want to fix the live wallpaper problem.

Edit looking at the script seems like I want to just do this part "give WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE ( Gallery3D and Most games ) access to graphics"
Is there a way I can do this without applying anything else in the script.
Can I just go in terminal and type everything manually?

what is so difficult?

Code:
su
sh /sdcard/fr-patch133.txt lwp

is that really hard to do?

Updated this patch on my phone from the 1.3.2 to the 1.3.3 when I had to reflash to CM5.0.7DS (do to that no boot issue after two days). In any case, just wanted to stop by and say thanks again for your patch and that you updated it!

I do have a small question about the RAM on the phone and the way that the system sees it. Here is the situation:

I have both "Advance Task Killer Free" and "Memory Status" (both installed from the standard Android Market) on my Google G1.

ATKF tells me I have 27MB of available internal memory, while "Memory Status" tells me I have 83.47MB of available internal memory. Any idea on how to make sure that the OS is seeing that full 83MB free? Sometimes ATKF reports down to 19MB free, and the phone really gets slow (at the same time MS states in the 70MB free).

Before installing your patch I used "Cachemate for Root (purchased)" to clean up the cache, then followed up by using "Move Cache for Root User" to move all of the cache to the SD card.

I tried to run the patch, fr-patch133.txt, on G1 running Jubeh's Froyo Rom, but I get error in terminal and on ADB command prompt. I get same error on fr-patch132.txt too.

Here's the error:

Code:
# sh /sdcard/fr-patch133.txt fb
sh /sdcard/fr-patch133.txt fb

I used this patch on many other ROMs and it worked perfect. Never faced any issues. What should I do so that it works??

Thanks!

ahh, ok
it looks like your froyo build doesn't have busybox ( or all of busybox's links )

confimed, jubeh's froyo does not have busybox

Thanks for reply, Firerat. Where do I get busy box? Is it available on Market? BTW, when I installed Titanium Backup, it asked to download busybox and I did. Do I need a different busybox or what?

Thanks again.

I've found titanium's busybox lacking ( specifically colour terminal support )

but in anycase you need to get it into your path, and make the correct links
but tbh, I have no idea if the all in one patch is even useful on a Froyo
wait for a Stable build ( e.g. CM6 )

This 'patcher' was born out of the CM5 test thread

Froyo is probably a very different beast, and I guess will have different issues
if needs be I will create a new 'patcher'

Got it. Yeah, I think, I'll wait for CM6. I was just trying to get Facebook to sync. But that's not really a big deal. I can wait.

Thank you so much for replying and the great work you're doing.

well, I have made a quick script to make the busybox links for you

to use it

Code:
adb remount
adb shell sh /sdcard/bb4Jsfroyo.txt

using the adb remount because I have no idea which syntax the mount uses ( and I'm lazy ;) )
*should* work but I haven't tested it

Edit: actually, might not need adb remount now, I added a bit
get on sdcard and
Code:
su
sh /sdcard/bb4Jsfroyo.txt

fingers crossed

this is the script ( also attached as txt )
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
BB=`find /data/data -name busybox`
$BB mount -o rw,remount /system
for i in free freeramdisk fuser getopt grep gunzip gzip head hexdump id ifconfig insmod install ip kill killall killall5 length less ln losetup ls lsmod lspci lsusb lzop lzopcat md5sum [ [[ arp ash awk basename bbconfig brctl bunzip2 bzcat cpio cut date dc dd depmod devmem df diff dirname dmesg dnsd dos2unix du echo ed egrep env expr false mkdir mke2fs mkfifo mkfs.ext2 mknod mkswap mktemp modprobe more mount mountpoint mv netstat nice nohup nslookup ntpd od patch pgrep pidof ping pkill printenv printf ps pwd rdev readlink realpath renice reset rm rmdir rmmod route run-parts sed seq setsid sh sha1sum sha256sum sha512sum sleep sort split stat strings stty swapoff swapon sync sysctl tac tail tar tee telnet test tftp time top touch tr traceroute true tty tune2fs umount uname uniq unix2dos unlzop unzip uptime fdisk fgrep find fold bzip2 cal cat catv chgrp chmod chown chroot cksum clear cmp cp usleep uudecode uuencode vi watch wc wget which whoami xargs yes zcat;do
ln -s $BB /system/xbin/$i
done

edit:
added
$BB mount -o rw,remount /system

*should* remount /system rw

ok, replaced

tbh I thought titanium installed busybox somewhere in /data/data/

hello, excuse my ignorance!
But this patch has nothing to do with loading roms requiring danger-spl?
I mean no danger-spl to load roms!
as in your other post, firerat!

yeap, has nothing to do with it

the latest NoneDanger stuff is here
http://goo.gl/qgOp
NB, it seems NoneDanger need to use the kernel I provided

as a bonus you don't get the random reboots you get with 5.0.8f's kernel

Thank.
one last question, no possibility to do a modification none-danger?
with the super 8.8?

errm, yeah, but this is not the place

in the thread r
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=6916491#post6916491
are some zips, which are good for danger/NoneDange
I've got a tarball for devs to patch their zip to Automate things so that you only need to mod recovery

not fully tested yet, BUT you can use the v1 zips, they should work but it does seem that on None Danger you have to use the kernel I compiled ( along with lbcoders fix for bt )

Hey Firerat you are a hard guy to get a hold of. lol You might notice me on the cyanogen forums. But I have a real quick ?. What do I have to edit or could you make me the files to use this correctly on the desire with the stock sense rom?

I have it working right now with 200mb free with the cache size on 10 or 15mb. But I can't download anything from the market over that size. Which i guess is because /cache isn't being bind mounted. I have no idea how to fix it either :(

I used your files that ennon has posted by the way. If it takes donating I can do that also.

if the bind script is not running, run it manually

    Code:
    su
    sh /sd-ext/userinit.d/06BindCache

that assumes you are not using a CM based ROM which should be running that script

btw, I think your in the wrong thread
this one has nothing to do with customMTD

quickest way to get hold of me is in one of my threads,

threads are preferred as other people can answer ( so its quicker )

I have PMs turned off as I was fed up with idiots asking me how to root or to fix their kang'o'rom/custom update zip
    1
Just make sure you don't donate because it will be returned ;)

    lol ^^ true story

    Anyway

Yes. How I love the tricks you play in your script.
    Wonderful!

But, I'm on the 6.1 stable... now, anyways. Same problem. (Did a fresh install on the 6.1 stable, too--)
I love how the sdext script allows the fresh installs to be much easier--- without all the hassle of re-installing EVERY DAMNED APP.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I noticed a couple more apps missing, and I finally figured out that it is, in fact-- the private apps that are missing after this fresh install.

There's the logcat--- I used aLogcat--- and there were so many options, I simply left it at the default.
If i need to post a better one, let me know...

    I ctrl+f'ed for net.dinglish.taskerm-1.apk (gah, I miss that app so much =( )
    but it wasn't even there...

    Thanks for the help, man.

If you ever post your paypal e-mail, i'm sending you money.
    Period.

Or hell! I know how much you Brits like Rolling Rock. But the Queen won't allow it to be imported 'cause it's the best Ale in all the land!
So I'll send you a 6 pack o' that if you'd really like.

You've been more helpful to me throughout my modding escapades than you can really imagine, and I would like to say "thank you" one way or another---

I'm going to need the logcat during boot ( which you can do with that alogcat apk )

    you will need adb

during boot ( with usb plugged in )

    adb logcat

OK, so--- I restored one of my nightlies--- uninstalled the apps I was missing from the 6.1 stable--- and then did a fresh install again.

Those apps are STILL missing from the market---

Damn! Yeah, there's something up with the cm6.1--- or maybe 85m isn't big enough for system?

df -h told me it only needed 83--- and the thread said go 2m over that...
The setting worked fine with the 266 nightly---

OK, and thanks for the patience, but adb logcat during boot erases the beginning after so long... so, how can I get the ENTIRE thing-- instead of a fractional snippet...?
I can't imagine this is helpful at all, but here are a couple of snippets I was able to select and copy before it finished booting.

    adb logcat > somelog.txt
