The update server/process is unstable. I got "new update available" and "failed to download update" few time. After lot of attempts, it finally downloaded the firmware. However during installation the upgrade process failed and it revert to original 4.0.3 configuration. Now when I check for update, it says no update available

So it is not just me but multiple people faced same symptom with "Android tummy open,Red exclamation, restored 4.0.3 and after that no update available". I am India and used office proxy to connect via US (device bought from US). Did anyone check with ASUS? Does it have anything to do with "root"? My device is no bootloader unlocked.

Home screen scrolling is really laggy and not as cool now. I'll try a reboot

Same failed update here (Chicago USA). My TF201 is also rooted with stock ROM and not unlocked.
Now when going into Check Updates, it says "There is no update available for your device currently."
I also had the failed update. Typical Asus. Can't even get an OTA done right. I dont have much hope for this "new" firmware anyway. I can't even unlock my device with that retarded unlock tool.
I pressed the "Check for update" button, received a message that said the download failed and to wait to try again... the 'check update' button is now permanently grayed out. >__<
EDIT: so... I rebooted a few times, almost gave up, and then BAM... update available. The message is just wonky. I guess it keeps checking automatically periodically.
Only played with the rom for a bit so far today, but I think I FINALLY received the tablet I paid for (back in February)! Still no GPS without the dongle, so I'm assuming it was just a coincidence that it worked great when I got it, and then failed completely once I performed the first OTA update. Not a deal-breaker... GPS was always just a bonus. Still... it would have been nice to have a dongle that worked while I have the dock plugged in as well. :\

I'd love to keep trying, except upon clicking the button now, it immediately says no update available.

20I fixed it!
There were 3 files missing from /system/xbin that were required for the update to work.

Here's what I did, from beginning to end:
- Extract the above zip and put the three files on the main storage.
- Put Wipeout's dlpkgfile on the main storage
- Enter shell:
- SU
- mount -o remount,rw /system
- cp /mnt/sdcard/dexdump /system/xbin/dexdump
- cp /mnt/sdcard/ps3bttest /system/xbin/ps3bttest
- cp /mnt/sdcard/rfcomm /system/xbin/rfcomm
- chmod 777 /system/xbin/dexdump
- chmod 777 /system/xbin/ps3bttest
- chmod 777 /system/xbin/rfcomm
- mount -o remount,ro /system
- cp /mnt/sdcard/dlpkgfile /cache/dlpkgfile
- echo '--update_package=/cache/dlpkgfile' >> /cache/recovery/command
- Exit shell.
- Shut down tablet.
- Turn on while holding the "volume down" key.
- When it vibrates, release the power key and keep holding the volume key.
- Three lines appear, hit "Volume UP".
- Update starts!
- Update Finishes!
