[Q] Kindle Fire HD 8.9 with CM10.1 and HDMI-to-VGA conversion ??
I would like to connect my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 with Hashcode's CM 10.1 to an ordinary lcd monitor, like connecting a netbook / laptop to a monitor. I tried several monitors (about 5) with different resolutions including 1920x1200 and 1920x1080. Unfortunately, it doesn't work 100%. With 1 HDMI connector, I usually see the CM10.1 screen, but sometimes the screen turns into static for a few seconds, and then shows the 10.1 screen again. Swiping or opening apps also usually comes with some moments of static on the screen. With another Micro HDMI adapter, it doesn't work at all (even directly into HDMI-in).
I use this adapter / converter, see dx.com/p/3-in-1-1080p-hdmi-male-to-vga-female-converter-cable-micro-hdmi-mini-hdmi-to-hdmi-female-adapter-193659
What am I doing wrong here? What are my options?
PS: Connecting directly from Micro HDMI to HDMI works fine, but of course not all monitors have HDMI-in.
