Hi all,

I'm considering to buy a Xoom for using in Vietnam. However, I'm not sure if it can work with 3G SIM card which is from GSM, not CDMA service provider. Please enlight me. Thanks.

CMDA doesn't use sim cards at all.
The XOOM has a sim slot, but that is for the 4G LTE and it is extremely unlikely that it could be hacked to work with GSM.

You should look into getting a WIFI XOOM and using a portable wifi hotspot.

BTW: I thought that most Asian countries used CMDA?

The Xoom with GSM networking is being released pretty soon for European countries. OP you should wait for one of these and import it, I know I will be. :)

In Vietnam, among 7 telcos, 2 run on CDMA and they are the smallest networks. All other big ones run on GSM. CDMA is popular in Korea and Japan, I guess.
