Default [MOD][DEFUNCT] Correct Build.prop

Hi. I have noticed on ROMs such as Android Revolution 4G 4.0b2 our devices are identified as a Desire HD, this is due to the leaked test build it is based off of being for the Desire HD. I have edited to the build.prop to read as a Inspire 4G again.

Instructions:
1. Connect your phone to your computer with USB Debugging enabled.

2. Do "adb pull /system/build.prop"

3. Go into the folder that has ADB in it and rename build.prop to build.prop.bak

4. Download the modded build.prop below and place it in the same folder you have ADB in.

5. Do "adb push build.prop /system"

6. Reboot.

If it did not work for you mount /system as RW and then repeat steps 5 & 6.

EDIT: It seems this is not working, if anyone would want to fix it, go ahead, I do not have time.
Current Device:
Samsung Galaxy SIII

Former Devices:
T-Mobile G1 - Broken
Samsung Vibrant - Sold
HTC Inspire - Sold
Nook Color - Sold
HTC Sensation - Sold
HP TouchPad - Given Away

Would this need to be done once or after every ROM that is flashed?

Unless it is integrated into the ROM, then yes, after every flash.

After pushing this to my Inspire I got stuck in a boot loop. This is what I did:

Adb remount
Adb pull
Rename to .bak
Put new build prop in same folder
Adb push
Adb remount
Reboot

Did I miss something or do something wrong?

What settings did you change? It's easier for me to just manually edit the file in root explorer.

Just the ro.product.model has been edited, this should not result in a bootloop so something must have gone wrong when you pushed the new build.prop ryan.

Hi,

I tried editing the .model to Inspire 4G. It still displays Desire. Any ideas?
