Not that I could ever figure out, so I just disabled gvmax and have google voice setup to send me an email when there is a voicemail since gmail is delivered very quickly on wp7.

Yah thats a bummer then. I really hope sockets api's are released soon, and whatever else is needed to make true in app notifications, so an official app can be made by google.

do they even have any rumors on when thatll happen. I love WP7. and need to use GV for a majority of my texting. and GoVoice is nice. but a little sluggish. any other GV app recommendations?

I've seen interviews with the top guys on the Dev Team at MS, and they have said this is #2 or 3 on the developer most requested list, and that they want to get this done. I'm guessing sometime mid year, but I haven't seen anything official.

GoVoice seemed the best to me, and is pretty much as good as we get for now.

ok thanks. thats what I thought also. one other quick question about it than. Do you think when they eventually make it happen the app will be integrated or any other GV app will be integrated like it is for android. as in when you make a call you can choose which number to call from and the texting is alot smoother?

because ive been considering switching back to my sprint number but if the GV apps will eventually get on par with android than I may fight it out for awhile

Should be able to. Even in my Blackberry days, the google voice 3rd party app was able to have an option for dialing out on your gv # either every time, or ask you each time, or not at all.

I don't doubt once we see these things open up, we will see this feature.

Once dev's can bind to a host port/server within the app, the google voice texting will be just like regular texting.

Have you verified the filter that was set up in Gmail? It should have "don't send to inbox" or something like that checked. That should do it. I have had GoVoice up and running for a couple of months and it has been relatively flawless. On the new HTC Arrive with NoDo, there is a HUGE difference in starting and resuming the app compared to the pre-NoDo HD7. Be happy you have the latest and greatest. I know I am :)
