Talking This phone is impressive

SGS 2 Quick look

I've never seen web scrolling this quick on android. It's really snappy for a custom UI.

I see they are using the same GPU-accelerated browser from the original SGS 2.2.1. We'll have to wait and see, but I'd rather have the non-GPU accelerated browser because you don't get checkerboxes.

Iphone 3G > T-Mobile G1 > Samsung Captivate > Samsung Focus > Samsung Galaxy SII> Nokia Lumia 920 > HTC 8X > Sony Xperia ZL
...and a bunch of other phones in between

Yeah, that looks very nice. Honestly, the only thing I don't like about this phone is that it doesn't have a notification LED, but I heard the Galaxy S1 didn't either and the community fixed it by making the bottom buttons blink. I can't wait, this phone is sick.

The bottom buttons blink too if you get Blinky from the market.

For a custom UI ? Custom UI are the ONLY WAY to have decent web scrolling speed on an android device, just look at the vids of the browser on the galaxy S and the vids of the Nexus S one, Google had really ****ed up this thing compared to the iPhone, they already fixed those lags on the honeycomb gpu accelerated browser but not on the mobile side (maybe in 2.4?)

BTW judging by the early pre alpha, the gingerbread update for the SGS will bring the exact same performance for the web browser so can't wait to see it arrive at the end of the month

I never missed it, but if it's that important to you there is always the Inspire 4G.
