You wrote its not possible to work offline with this tool. I see I could download parts of 16km² with Google Labs. This is a help, but its also a lot work to zoom in every part of a country. Ok, found out that this apk use the shifted chinese map (just switched on the satellit view and it doesnt fit with the street map). So, is there a non-shifted version, too?

all ownhere versions cannot be installed on AOSP ICS ROM.

If you find original non-shifted Chinese Google maps version the you can do the porting yourself . all you Ned to know is in the second post .
