WOW. Navigating to POI directly from Navigation now works! Previously I had to look for POI in GMaps and call Navigation from there. Now can just straight go to Navigation and navigate from there. AWESOME.

To share what I've done:
I downloaded the signed .apk. Uninstalled GMaps on my phone first. Then installed the .apk. Upon launching GMaps it will prompt that login failed, with 3 triangles. What I did was tap on each error and accept the permission grant. After that was smooth sailing. Even remembers my Starred Places!

Do you have TTS installed and does it still work in navigation?
It seems that TTS is not working anymore for me...
Edit: it's working now, my own tts settings had to be enabled again.

Scratch that. For some reason POI search in Navigation goes back to being non-functional.

EDIT: Realise you need to go to the map view, let the GPS lock, then only can proceed with POI search.

is it me only or ICS dont support replacing system files and such? using all 3 files and it wont let me install on NExus S running CM9 Alpha 11 by Koush.

flashed a zip, it appears in system/app but not in my drawer... installed fine on my SGS2 running GB though.

when will changed version of gmaps 6 available?

Maps work fine for me on an ICS rom. Its the navigation that is a problem ... keeps saying "Getting driving directions" and after some time, a nice lady tells me ... "Data connection lost"
