I installed the non rooted version on my new One-X but every time I start maps it says unable to log in. Is this an ics issue? If I try to log in with my android gmail address it says already in use/signed in on device.......

I'm finding that with 6.2 and 6.5 (both stock Google on ics) that my street view is broken. When going into street view, you can see it load up the view. But once fully loaded, it goes black. I can still see the street name, but the photo is now missing. Anyone have the same experience?

You can try installing changepen. It will be installed along side with original Google maps. Cause it has a different signature. Just make sure which is which. Because they will appear with same name and icon.

P.s. Use this method to root. It won't change custom binary counter and won't show yellow triangle. The best part is that it is completely harmless.

Try the Changepn version first.

Rooting is great when you know what it does, but might not be a good idea if you are not sure of what kind of permissions it'll unlock.

Just my two cents
