Default Advent Tweet

"To those asking about Honeycomb, we're still investigating with partners & promise to come back to you as soon as we have full understanding"

http://twitter.com/AdventVega

What does that mean? I would have thought the response would more likely have been, "we are working on it"!

I think it has something to do with the news posted yesterday about google not posting the source for honeycomb yet, and that they wasn't going to either. They've only shared it with samsung, moto, and lg at the minute, so advent are probably trying to get google to let them have it. Since the vega wasn't supported by google and thus had no access to google apps, I have little hope of honeycomb coming from advent in any official capacity. If they do ever get round to releasing the source, then it shouldn't be that hard for a custom rom for it.

DONATE TO ME
Advent do not make their own roms, the roms are made by the supplier (oem) who is Shuttle. Advent and all the other vega clone companies then take this rom and adjust it to their own needs.

Advent will be waiting to hear from Shuttle if they will be providing the update.

Seen as Honeycomb is not open sourced Shuttle will need to be provided with the necessary files direct from Google in order for there to be a Honeycomb rom, so we will just have to wait and see (for an official rom anyway)

The thing is, if google released the source code today - or allowed advent (shuttle) to issue a rom for us, it would be pointless.

you see honeycomb doesnt support sd cards yet, apparently the xoom is getting that added in sometime in Q2 - so since we dont have any useable internal storage, honeycomb would be pointless without access to out sd cards.
