I have had this question ever since Deodexed came out but I don't quite know what are the differences between Stock and Deodexed.

Basically, in a nut shell its a compression method. However, the deodex version's that you will normally find from a dev will have alot of the crap removed. Sstock apps that the service provider puts on the phone before you get it. So normally the deodex version of a ROM is better, leaner, and runs smoother/ faster.

Hope that gives you a better idea.

DONATE TO ME
This bothered me as well -- http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/...omplete-guide/ provides some good insight.

Basically, as I understand it, .odex files are pre-loaded into the cache at boot time to speed the apparent start-up time of applications (like M$ does with Office). The trade-offs are:
* Increased memory utilization
* Inability to change things ("themes" as an example) at application launch time
Samsung Galaxy S 4G -- Development version of Team Acid's AOKP source or CM9 source, Hefe Kernel of Darkness or Aries kernel, KG4 or LB6 modem
Formerly (GB) FB's Spin of RaverX3X's Valhalla Black with AntonX's v1.1.3 Kernel

WiFi Performance, GB vs. ICS, and how to measure it yourself.

FreeBSD, Ubuntu, MacOS X, OpenWRT
Motorola Micro-TAC ("Micro" ) Nokia 2160, 8260, 6681, E70, N900, then had to move on
