[Q] Boot Animation woes (advice)
Dipping my proverbial toe in the proverbial waters of android modding.
Brrr. Glad I made a backup (as always) before I started fooling around :|
I attempted to make a custom boot animation amalgamating 2 different animations (basically part0 of the BIOS and part1 of a wireframe andy bootanimation I found on AndroidPolice. (The wireframe zip was *not* named bootanimation.zip (and the file names differed along with a different numbering scheme (Part1 pngs incremented from the last file name of Part0))).
I unzipped both, renamed all the files in wireframe andy to match the BIOS format, copied the desc.txt from BIOS (only 1 difference on line 1) and then zipped em back up. (using the ubuntu 10.10 Compress utility as well as Root Explorer's zip functionality.
I then either adb or use root explorer to copy over /system/media/bootanimation.zip.
Up until my last attempt (wtf did i do. hrmmn), the phone booted (sans animation). This last time, the phone was stuck on the black screen (always, ALWAYS backup prior to fiddling around).
Does anyone have an idea where I'm going wrong?
Thanks,
Drew
