I ordered one so we'll see if these things actually work. I'll find out on Thursday

Well bought the JIG on amazon and guess what it doesn't work. It must be truly bricked. I tested the JIG on another phone just to see if it would go into download mode and it does just not on this one. I think what happened was the USB port was half bad and during an ODIN update it lost it or at least that's what I'm guessing happened anyway.

Thumbs up Thanks! I am now unbricked

I foolishly went from CM7 stable to CM10 Nightly without doing any research whatsoever. Apparently it re-partitioned everything and bricked my phone. Bad on me.

Once a complete recovery image was located I was able to follow the Heimdall recovery section to un-brick it.

And being a complete and utter noob, I cannot locate the all-important-Thanks button.

... And now I found Thanks. Did I have to post a reply before I could thank someone? Ah well.

Default Heimdall Firmware Package

I used the above links to download the newest version of Heimdall Frontend but my issue is being unable to find a Firmware Package to use with the Frontend.

Anyone have an idea where I can get ahold of those files?

Great post! I never wanted to root my phone until I read this. Knowing that I could always revert to stock made my decision to root a lot easier!
