Default [Q] Overclock the xperia play to 2ghz?!

Thunderbolt can now overclocks to 2 ghz stable.. 1.996 ghz to be exact. Thats just a single core!! So I was thinking since it uses the same 1GHz Scorpion processor aka Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon. Can this also be done on the xperia play??

Yes this could be possible but you have to keep in mind every processor is different. You could have two processors that are exactly the same but one may be able to overclock to 2.1GHz while another may only be able to hit 1.5GHz. So cross your fingers and hope you got the 2.1GHz processor.

Leaving that aside.... as far as I know, Thunderbolt and Xperia play doesn’t have the same Snapdragon processor.

In case of the Thunderbolt, it should be the model MSM8655 and all of the current xperia line have the MSM8255.

Of course, that’s just a slightly difference. Overall, the possibility to overclock it to 2 ghz is there as well.

Now that the Xperia has been rooted, has anyone played with overclocking yet?

And NielDK, Bin4ry and DooMLoRD has been solved the problem of flashtool for play.
Even someone bricken their phone by trying modded rom, they can recover by flashtool.
