Default [Q] Low on Space 'Tablet storage space is getting low

I got my transformer on Monday and having syned it with my google account all is well.

However yesterday I was presented with the message "Low on Space Tablet storage space is getting low"

When checking the settings I am told that I have used 12.8gb for apps!!!
This is not possible. Looking at the xoom forums I can see other users are having the same issues

Any Ideas?

Hi,

More like a suggestion, can you install an app like DiskUsage from the Android market? See what that tells you?

I don't think the Xoom users who had this problem found any resolution except a factory reset.

No I could not install any apps - even after removing a bunch of them.

Thanks I had seen the threads but not read them.

I have since done a full wipe (factory restore) and it has fixed the issue.

In a way this was not too much of a problem as I am getting my transformer replaced because one of the sides where the back meets the metal edge, the back is too thin (pressed in too much) so the metal edge is sharp to touch

On the Android phones you can go into application settings and see (and clear) the memory they use - sounds like an app just filled it up with something? This could be a worry if its one of Asus'es standard apps.

Eeek indeed, but wouldn't they all be made in the same way? ie, all of the pads are lethal instruments?

Don't mean to thread jack, but how much of the internal storage is available for App Installs?

It would appear that Honeycomb is quite different to previous versions of Android, and the remaining 14gb or so is available for apps/data/media whatever.

I guess this is why they don't have a USB storage mode any more, and MTP is used.

Dave

Had the same problem today. Tried to uninstall some apps to see if one of them went "crazy" but didn't solve the problem and...I cannot install other apps. I think I'll have no other choice but reset :(
