Actually, if you just give me framework-res.apk, I'll mod it for you, then you can just use that to upload to UOT kitchen with the other files and create the flashable zip yourself! Anyone can use the UOT Kitchen ... it's a piece of cake! The instructions are in the OP of this thread

Firstly, I get the same errors that you are getting, so it's not just you.

I tried copying files in and out, I found some xml files that were somehow corrupt and replaced them with originals, I deleted directories, I created new ones.

Just when I thought I had it beaten, it turned around and b*tchslapped me!

So, I do apologise mate, but however this framework-res.apk has been put together, it doesn't seem to work with this method! Sorry!

If anyone else is up for a challenge and wants to prove they're more intelligent than me ... give it a go. I'm sure miniterror will appreciate it.

Cheers,

I only tried so on the rc24 of virtous unity, but it's almost the same. There are some things you have to do after recompiling in order to have a better outcome.

Once you compiled the apk again, go to the original framework-res.apk archive file and take everything except "rescource.arsc" from it, then shove it into the new apk. Overwrite everything in the new apk ( aka zip archive ) and select compression level 0/store. I use winrar because it gives me the most options.

I somehow thought that it must have had something to do with the compression level, so I decided to extract the "rescource.arsc" from the new apk just to put it back into the new apk(yap, it sounds dumb ^^). Again I did overwrite the file with compression level 0/store.

Another thing that might change the outcome is wether you wipe dalvik cache prior to flashing your uot-brew.

I'm not really good at the kitchen but those were the things I found searching the apktool thread

One off-topic remark: When I flashed my auto-brightness tables via uot-kitchen I also wanted to put a 1% battery mod in it and a custom bootanimation. Battery worked, brightness tabels too, but the animation did not succeed. Anyways, it did not corrupt the Rom and I didn't change it since I don't mind wasting maybe 3 mb of space on this vast system partition.

I hope I could help. Keep on keeping on

Ben

Thank you so so so much

It worked

This is what I did (as per your advice),
After completing step 21 on the OP tutorial, I opened the original framework-res.apk with 7zip and copied everything except "rescource.arsc" to the new “unsignedframework-res.apk” in “place-apk-here-for-modding” folder.
And then copied “unsignedframework-res.apk” to desktop and renamed it to “framework-res.apk”. Then pushed it using ADB. Finally rebooted the phone to recovery and then wiped “dalvik cache”.
