Default Custom kernel boot animation

Is there a way to have custom boot animation for the kernel? If so, how can it be done?

That's not the kernel splash, that is thee param.lfs boot splash that comes before the kernel image.
There are 3 things you see at boot: bootsplash, kernel splash, boot animation(stock uses the same boot splash and kernel splash so there is no visible change). The first and last can be changed easily like the guy said mobiletechvideos, for the kernel you will have to compile a whole kernel yourself there is no way to just swap the image.

Those are the beginning of the boot animation the "s" is the second part of the same animation. Kernel splashes are static images.

no the kernel splash can be an animation. and i believe the 3g animation is the kernel splash on a stock rom.

glitterballs has a kernel with animated splash, it says kernel panic upload mode, i guess just to test the concept and freak people out a little if they are not paying attentino to his first post, if he ever returns and his thread is reopened maybe he has a way to change it. or maybe if he postes his patches and sources others will copy it.

You should try onix before passing judgement. Some phones like it, some dont. Mine was ok with it, but I thought I would try paragon kernel because several people had success.
