Default T-Mobile TMO services

Hi there, gots my new Arc from t-Mobile germany and for some reason they have these TMO-Syn Services running and it is draining the battery like nothing...
Since it is a service or something it wont let me deinsatll the damn thing the regular way... it will just let me stop the service but as soon as switch the network connection it pops back on and i have to deactivate it...

Is there (yet) a way to deactivate or uninstall these services permanently?

Uninstalling it would require root access which isn't available yet.
Unfortunately for people in your position, the current attempts to root the Arc are based around the unlocked bootloader which won't be made officially available for network-locked handsets.

As for disabling it, there's someone over on the T-Mobile UK forum who seems to have concluded it's impossible to do so.
Obviously that's not conclusive but I can't comment on the matter myself as my Arc is unlocked/unbranded.

Doesn't matter, any sort of network customisation and you won't be able to unlock the bootloader using SE's site.

Not at the moment I don't think.
There's no root, so no ClockworkMod, so no backing up of ROMs etc.

I flashed the debranded ROM yesterday which removes anything T-mob. That being said, I never actually saw this TMOsync service people mention.

I noticed there is a feature on the t-mobile website for it to backup your contacts etc. which I have disabled. Is it possible you have this enabled?

As for warranty, I guess mine is gone until someone provides the t-mob rom (which can be pulled form a t-mob handset if im not mistaken)
That being said though, from experience with other phone manufacturers, warranties are only voided if the software caused the issue and usually only if its a custom ROM, hardware issues tend to get fixed regardless. Im not sure what sony ericssons view is on flashing another version of their own official rom, particularly now they are allowing bootloaders to be unlocked with statements of "may" void warranty. Might be worth checking out before you do anything.
