Can someone explained to me what its the advantage of rooting the phone when there is actually no bloatware to remove or any major modification to the main folders?

Can someone enlight me?

There is a TON of bloatware. What are you talking about?
Highlight
T-Mobile Mail
EA Games
My Account
My Device
Polaris Office
SmartShare
T-Mobile TV
TegraZone Games
Video Chat by Qik
TeleNav GPS
Zinio Reader
Wifi Calling
Need for Speed
Nova

You may find some of them useful, but if it's not stock Android, then it's BLOAT.

Don't want to hijack but how I did it.
This is how I rooted with no problems.

*install LG mobile update software (contains drivers needed for USB debugging) found in general post about check for updates failed.

*download and extract super one click root.

*open super one click root file and run root.

*if prompted agree to install all files (Super user and busybox is what it asked me to install)

*done

Thats what I did and all well so hope it helps.

Ok thanks, I'm going crazy over hear. I assume by running you mean more than just opening the superuser.apk. so is there a way to get that running after I reboot the phone? If not I'll just wait till there is a recovery made. But thanks again.

Got and rooted my G2X today. Followed the instructions, but the LG drivers from the original post didn't work on my Win7 x64 box. It said the LGE Android Driver could not be found. So instead I grabbed a unified driver to T-Mobile from lgforum site (can't post urls yet) and it worked like a charm.

Can't wait for CM7 to be ported!

Yeah, that's is there but messing with it doesn't restore root access via adb. Still have to redo the 1-click root.
