@ansar - please post additional warnings.

Guess, I'll tap some resources and get the beta.

thanks.
There seems to be quite a few serious issues with these roms and not much support from the dev's.

You definitely take you life in your own hands when you flash a rom, but the dev's for windows phone 7 roms, seem quite a bit less competent than the Android sections, where the ROM's are generally beta tested before they are posted and support is generally pretty good.

It seems the dev's here are using us as alpha testings and not caring if our handsets are made useless in the process.

I have been messaging ansar for a few weeks now regarding faulty roms he has been posting, but he still hasn't removed the faulty roms, or fixed the issues. Which I personally this is not on.

If a fault is found with a ROM, then it should be pulled until the fault is fixed.

I totally agree.

I came from the WM6.5 world of roms and cooks where folks were very quick, helpful...I was always provided with quick feedback to bring my phone back to usable state. There, cooks & devs make a name for themselves, just by the sheer quality and quantity. NRGZ is one of those amazing cooks that just gets it and is responsive.

I'm now still using my WM6.5 till i get this Verizon Trophy paper weight up and running again all because of the crappy ROM posted here.

Also disappointed. We need quality control.

I have contacted the moderator of this section asking that he at least instill a few rules that these Dev's are bound by.

I realize that they are working for free and for the love of the scene, but they also need to take into consideration the impact that it is having on those of us that trust that they have done due diligence to insure the software's safe.

Hopefully we get a response shortly.

I don't think that your backup is damaged. I made a working backup of my stock phone before flashing this rom, and tested it several times... along with a "stock" backup. I think that this older SPL in this 1.03 demo rom may be preventing restoration of the backup (which only backups up files, not radios/SPLs).

I think I'll head to the city after work tomorrow and try to coax some information out of a Verizon guy I know.
If anything I have posted has helped you, please remember to press the "thanks" button!

Current Phones: HTC Eris, HTC Trophy 7 (SparkW)
Current Rom: XevRev Beta ?? lol
Current Employment: Crap

Try XevRev for Spark_W! It just works.
In need of a HTC Touch (Vogue) ROM that doesn't crash every 5 mins? Try XevRev_V series!

Enjoy XevRev? Please donate because I'm poor! (Seriously, I am.)

Follow me on twitter @RisingStart!

Thanks to everyone who has donated to me!

Some attempts...

frishmans92 was gracious enough to revert is VZW Trophy to stock and make a fresh restore point. The hope was to take his restore point and restore back our phones.

I placed the files in the correct folders, updated the "ActiveId.dat" file, etc. Zune and the WP7 backup tool both recognized the restore, but in the end failed to restore.

One thing i did notice is the firmware on the "Demo" ROM is
(2305.06.10320.605) vs
(2305.06.10322.605) on the original stock.

I'm not sure if this is or other is the issue.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

frishmans92 - Thank you for your effort!!!
