A note:
In Linux (or MAC I suppose aswell) you need to enter
./fastboot -i 0x0fce flash system play-modded.img

BTW. It did NOT erase installed apps on my phone

Tested, working, all apps remained
Also tested purchased PS game Destruction Derby *G* no licensing probs.
Titanium backup tested, working (Pro version)
All good mate

Yep confirmed working just used root explorer to delete bloatware

Should, if you are on firmware 3.0.A.2.184
(settings, about phone, build number)
