When I first set the phone up when it still had all the Orange branding, there was an Email app and Gmail was seperate. Went into the email up first and there was a list of different email providers, including Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. Put in my Hotmail details and it sync'd no problem and was doing push email. Could also sync all my folders and it appeared under Settings, Accounts & Sync.
Since flashing, you go into email, it doesn't list all the providers, you just put in your address and password and it tries to get the settings automatically. It does work, but it looks like a much more old fashioned version of the app. It also appears to be setup as a POP3 account and not push. It also doesn't appear in Accounts & Sync, so I can't sync contacts or stop it synching at night, etc.
I checked before I flashed, and the software version is identical. Android 2.3.2. Build 3.0.A.2.184. Only difference I thought I'd get was no Orange branding.
