Has anyone tried to overclock their rooted Arc yet?

and if you have.. how did you do it, and what results are you getting? how's it affected your Quadrant score?

I've not done overclocking before so I don't want to screw things up by being a complete noob!

I tried with setCPU but it stops at 1024 so I suppose it's not overclocking anything

don't you need a kernel thats supports O/C and higher values ?

Correct, kernel values need to be changed to alow it. But with unlocked bootloaders and root, custom kernels will be comming soon...

yup, i rooted it using gingerbreak.apk thingy. Gained superuser permissions etc but setcpu's values only reach 1024mhz...so i;m also assuming its not overclocking anything.

wait for custom kernels...
on similar QSD8255 devices ppl were able to reach 2Ghz!!!

so all will come in due time...

first we need to get custom Recovery working...

1st we all need a xRecovery working for ARC, without it, nothing can be customized.

Can anyone please tell me how long did it take to root 'arc' using gingerbreak.apk?
I have unlocked the bootloader successfully, downloaded gingerbreak.apk, copied it to sd card, started it, choosed 'Root' and it started like 15 minutes ago. I'm still having: 'Rooting... Running exploit... This may take few minutes...' message.

It took 45min to finish with an FC!

My Arc gets hot enough at stock speeds, I can't see OCing to 2GHz being a great idea...
