I am trying to root my Acer Iconia A500, but the problem is with rooting it. File downloaded and installed but when I go to root it it takes forever and does nothing, stays on the Rooting.....Running Exploit.....This may take a few minutes...Device will reboot on success. I let it run for like 30 minutes (4x now) and nothing. Can someone help me in trying to figure what is wrong.

We have the same problem, it also get stuck on my SHW-M180s v2.3.3 (korean galaxy tab)
just as the op said if it doesnt work it means it wont.
well have to wait for the newer version i guess

Wish its on the near future though.

I recently rooted my phone using the gfree method and was successful with my android 2.2 version, however, since I went to t mobile and had 2.3 installed I can't even get gingerbreak to work. Has anyone been successful rooting a mt4g using gingerbreak?

Yes, you install it on your device. Download the file to your pc, then transfer it to your device via usb. Find the file on your device (wherever you sent it to from your pc) using a file explorer, then select it and it will install. After this, just click on the icon it your app drawer to run it.

I got a Lg Optimus Chat (LG -C555)

After installing GingerBreak v1.20 and rooting it...
It keeps running for like 30 mins o.o
and before I had a error message saying missing asset or sumthing i forgot
but now it just keeps going on and on.

i made sure the enable debugging mode is on and and my sd card is formatted.

Am I doing something wrong that I was sopose to do?
or is just my phone?

i was trying to install Gingerbreak v1.20 in my htc desire s...But It shows me

Rooting ....
Running exploit ...
This may take a few minutes !
Device will reboot on sucess !

This is what i see on the screen for hours waiting for it to complete, but it doesn't reboot or even i couldnt see, super user applcation installed in menu.

Pleae help me out..
