I can't get root on my DX. I read the entire 51 pages of this topic so far, and other DX owners get it to work, but I can't. It unmounts the SD card, then I go into storage settings and try to re-mount it, but it does nothing.

Any help would be super.

I managed to root my DHD updated to 2.36.405.8 with the RUU, but it is not exactly clear to me.
I had 1.32 rooted and both Radio s-off and Eng s-off. I would imagine that the root and Eng s-off get's wiped by the RUU update and already 've been told that Radio s-off survives such updates. But that confuses me.
What part of partition/software get's modified with either s-off action. As I suppose the Radio s-off only affects flashing radios but how can that be a restriction for GingerBreak to complete successfully.

works
i just rooted my htc desire hd 2.3.3 successfully, at first the reboot didnt work but i rebooted it manually and superuser was installed
