I asked this question over in the cm7 thread but have yet to get an answer so I figured I would post the question here just in case anyone else has the same issues. I am wondering if there is a way to adjust minimum threshold for wifi to pick up the signal from the router. Or if there is a way to reset the wifi to get back my signal reception. I did notice last night at home that my signal would fluctuate if I blocked l.o.s. to the router with my laptop screen by about 30-40%. Don't know if that is even relevent but I am tying to provide all the information I have.

Have you dropped your router before? If so this can cause a great decrease in signal strength. If not read on.
Does your router have system settings for you to access by typing it's IP addrss in the address bar of your laptop's browser?
If so, reset all its settings to default (except for your routers password). This way we can eliminate one variable, the router.
Now let's get to work:
- Try flashing a different version of android (2.x) and/or a non-cyanogenmod rom
- Try tuning your tcp setting using adb shell and watch the wifi signal increase/decrease and take note of what new value you echo-ed increase/decreased the signal.
TCP Tuning Locations:
/proc/sys/net/
