Default [Q] Coby Kyros 8024

I would just like to know what custom ROMs will be applicable for Coby Kyros 8024. I know this device was just release a few months ago, but I will appreciate it if someone can tell where to start with this. Thanks in advance everyone!!

Default Coby kyros 8024 w/android market

I've heard some talk about people successfully rooting and running Roms on the kyros 8024, Iam running the android market without root and am now working on turning my kyros into a wifi phone for home use......... The best texting app I've found would be heywire and if you want to store contacts on the kyros use komodo (free ver) and add contacts manually!

Default Coby MID 8024 Root

I ran the root and device rebooted. Icon shown on screen, alright. However, when attempting to dl apps from the market I get message "no android phone" attached. I no the yelling will start but what is up with that?

Thanks for response without name calling.

I found a blog, of sorts, that was fairly useful in getting the Android Market running properly and rooting it using SuperOneClick (although I haven't tested that yet but I'm going to in the next hour or so).

http://www.ibrado.org/coby-kyros-mid...ted-googlified

I literally just got mine in the mail today and I've been grabbing APK's from my phone to install applications on the tablet - some work, some don't. I've got Gmail working, several games like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja.

I'm going to see about getting recovery on it and upgrading to 2.3.4 or higher because this Froyo BS is killing me.

Please post any info you find on a custom recovery I rooted with the super1click method and not reading properly used the recovery image for the 7024. This device seems to use some sort of nand backup and the image file needs to be altered to properly flash a custom backup
also be careful when installing network location I haven't found a version that doesn't keep the device from soft resetting

Guys,

I bought an MPMAN MP827, wich is a Coby Kyros MID8027 differently branded. The Coby Kyros MID8027 is like the Coby Kyros MID8024 but with only 3 soft buttons and with a capacitive display.

Trying to install some Google core apps the device went boot cycling. This was my mistake: I download the firmware for the MID 8024 from Coby's website and installed it, however, as it for a resistive display, all is working fine (well, haven't had the change to try everything actually) but the display won't recognize any touch. Volume and power physical buttons seem to work ok, the soft ones I don't really know.

What I needed is a firmware that works with the device. It's an 8 inch, Cortex A8 1Ghz, 3 soft buttons, capacitive display tablet, with 512MB RAM and 4Gb NANO Flash memory.

Any ideias?

Anyone has the MPMAN 827 or the Coby Kyros MID 8027 (this is being sold by Amazon Germany) or even the Coby Kyros MID 8128 (seems to be exactly like the MID 8027 but with GPS and is also sold on Amazon Germany).

I have called Coby USA and they told me they do not have any product named MID 8027, which is bs as it is being sold in Germany.

I will call Coby Germany during the next week.

MPMAN also promised to get me the original firmware and have been great about what I did to it, but they are taking sooooo long.... and maybe there's a Gingerbread, already rooter and market enabled rom that works out there.

Any suggestions?
