Default Does Current Widget Work on SGS2?

on the original galaxy s phone, the battery driver does not output any current readings, so apps like the current widget are useless.

can anyone confirm if the current widget works on the galaxy s 2? perhaps the current widget app might not even be updated yet for this phone, so you would also have to look into the filesystem, find the battery driver output sysfs, and see if current shows up there.

If you mean this widget:

https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result

Then no, it doesn't appear to work, adding the widget and pressing 'update now' it still just says no data...

makes sense since the galaxy s didnt work either, because the samsung battery driver did not output current draw, so the widget had no place to look for the current file.

i wonder if the galaxy s2 battery driver is different? somebody with the device would have to use root explorer, and dig thru the file system and locate teh battery driver folder and see if current output is there.

then the current widget will be updated to work.

possible locations: sys/devices/platform/ and look for battery driver (might not say the actual word battery though)

lets hope this exists!

Now that the code is released, the battery driver does look like it outputs current readings. But the widget will have to be updated to point to the proper file location. Someone should browse the their file tree and try to locate the battery file folder.

Also a few people have posted claiming battery monitor widget is showing current readings. Not sure how accurate that is though.

I would VERY mich like to have current widget finally working on my SGS2. All this beast under the hood after upgrading from HD2, but I discover I cannot read battery current, nor the phone keeps date&time if I swap out the battery. Disappointing to say the least.

Would you please point me in the direction of where to look at in order to give you insight on making currentwidget work?
