wow.. you ask something and then are a dick about it when it's not the answer you want to hear.. the truth gave you the answer you cant get root without flashing or using adb on the dell streak 7.. I'm assuming you dont want to use adb or flashing because you dont know how? so either learn how to do it.. or just forget about it(which I recommend because you will prob save us all grief later when you end up fu*king up your device and will be back here asking for help)

I have a Mac and adb works but fastboot doesn't.

no i wasn't trying to be a dick,there just has to be a way. i only meant that I should have read more before asking. no dick headness meant.I cant use adb because I use a friends computer and he wont let me down load the files.
After reading more threads on the subject is when I added the edit notation.
