Default Can't remove an app

I installed an app from the market but can't uninstall it. The program is PressReader. Does anyone have trouble with this app. And how do I go about deleting it off the device completely?

DONATE TO ME
Pressreader is a pre-installed app so it sounds like you have mistaken updating it from the market as installing a fresh version. You can't uninstall /remove pre-installed apps in the rom unless you have rooted your device.

Phone:
Samsung Galaxy W ... Tablet: Google Nexus 7 (16gb)
Retired Devices: |HTC HD2| Asus Eee Pad Transformer |HTC Touch HD |O2 Stellar |HTC Hero |XDA Atom Life | XDA 2i
OS: Win7 Ultimate 64bit

Really...ypu possitive it's preinstalled on the transformer? Cause I swore I downloaded it. It had the install button when I went to the market. It also had an uninstall button after it's been installed, but doesn't do anything. Uninstalling will show the "install" button back when you visit the pressreader page. Oh well...may have to root it later at some point

100% sure. It comes with a trial of 5 downloads or something. Not removable without root.

The root account is the highest privileged account on unix-like operating systems, such as Linux, which Android is based on (well, it is). It's equivalent to (an elevated) Administrator on Windows/OS X.

Having root access means you can do (for the most part) whatever the hell you want to the device. You can delete any file you want, you can write files anywhere, you can mess with the configuration in ways not normally allowed (such as tethering), backup installed apps with their configuration, etc.

Im running the Prime 1.4 Rom and cannot uninstall any of the apps that are pre-installed. And there are several that I would and this is one of them.

"Aude Vide Tace = Hear, See, be Silent.."

Phone; HTC Sensation XE = Rooted
Running ELEGANCIA Rom, Blitz ICS Sense 3.6 v.3.6.0

Also a, Asus Transformer - Dock - 16Gb, Rooted Using [TOOL] "1-Click Transformer Root"

And Now a Asus Google Nexus 7 16Gb, Not Rooted Yet.. with Bluetooth mini keyboard, Which also works with the Sensation, LOL...

Dont be Shy, If I Help You Click the "Thanks" Button It Dosn't Bite..

With Ti Backup, you can just freeze the app. That way you can always bring it back if you change your mind ...

Skickat från min ASUS Eee Pad TF101
