the google one is excellent although it doesn't have offline maps.
Most reviews including the gadget show and magazines rated it top. that said you can use copilot ive used it a few times, does what t says on the tin and the junction picture is pretty useful.

But seriously never been let down by google maps, even got to the lakes using it through the mountains

Let me put it this way, I bought co-pilot thinking that there was no way google could be better than an official sat nav app.

I use google !

Mapdroyd works well. It lets you download maps for offline use, so you won't use data.

Google's own navigation software is excellent, no need to bother with anything else.

Relying on a Satnav that uses data when travelling though patchy reception areas is a bad idea.

Get co-pilot, it is worth it.

Well, when i wrote this i WASN NOT kidding, i was finding Google Maps and Navigation REALLY hard to get on with, it wouldnt connect and i would be sitting there for ages waiting for it to do ANYTHING, in the end i gave up and just did my best to follow street view, lol.

But no, it has been updated, and is a lot better than it was, it doesnt like connecting when i am already moving, and for my job, i gotta be moving all the time from place to place, so i need to be able to start the app, tap in a new destination and GO straight away, which Google doesnt seem to like doing.
