Default [Q] ROM with best battery life?

Wanted to know if a particular ROM has better battery life than the others. Supposedly Gingerbread has battery life improvements; I'd like to know if it translates real world.

Regards,

Mike

I've used 2.1, owains 2.2 & 2.3, slades 2.2 and 2.3.... and they are all pretty similar in battery usage.

Everything set to OFF (wifi, 3g, data, bluetooth, screen very low, no active widgets etc)... the best i could get was 5% battery use per HOUR... rising to 10%+ when having anything enabled.

After reading about iOS, WP7 and Android tracking and logging position data, i decided to turn off the basic 'use wireless networks' in location settings.

Now (using a Deji 3rd party battery -which reports as a 1200mah battery), I get 3+ days with the same settings. Roughly 1% per hour when idle now.

HTH

I think ginggerbread is much better for its battery life, you can make experiment with those roms anyway..

For me 2.1 uses more battery when the phone is idle than the 2.2 CM6 final...
when you use the phone, instead, 2.1 and CM6 final are the same.

Have a look in the Accessories forum, there's a thread there running about various batteries... the Deji is one of them (though it is labelled as 1500mah)

I've had Owain94's 2.2 and 2.3 ROMs installed and the 2.2 had the best battery life (both over the 2.1) ime.

I managed to get nearly 3 days out of my phone with all connections turned off (apart from standard phone).

I think that all roms on 2.x.x have better battery life then 1.5/1.6. This is what i experienced.

there's a rapid battery drainage in all custom roms compared to the latest sony ericsson stock rom if 3g is enabled
so far nobodyatall's/slade87's mini-cm based rom has the least battery drainage in full on mode, although don't expect it to last a whole day if you are using it a lot

Well, to be frank, i tried lots of roms (almost all of them) and i found best battery life on NaA MiniCM RC2 with hotfix..

With default frequency of mini (600MHz) and with SetCPU Profile for idle more ((screen off) profile to set frequency from 128MHz - 350MHz with 55% priority) i manage to get over 100 work hours with little usage of WiFi and Data Transfer, few hours of MP3 and around 1h of phone talk, around half and hour of playing games, with moderate usage of phone.
