No SD Card slot on the 8.9"? See this latest video

Where is the SD Card slot?

That is the true thin version of 8.9".

I read that it's hidden behind the black cover. So it won't be easy to shuffle many cards.

What? The black cover is removable? Ain't that a bad design decision? I mean how hard was to fit the SD slot on one side? Do we have a confirmation somehow that the 10.1 and the 8.9 will indeed have the SD slot after all and which models?

As thin as the tablet is, I can't imagine they could have possibly made it removable. Pretty sure if you don't see a slot on the outside, then it doesn't have one.

It is possible the SD slot is inside the SIM card slot, like the Xoom did. But back at CTIA the 10.1 was shown with separate SIM and SD slots. So I don't think anyone really knows what the final product is going to have.

Sadly I was hoping the details were going to come out tomorrow, but Samsung mysteriously cancelled the scheduled event. So... guess we'll find out someday.

As I posted on other thread, I think we should this SD card let go ...

SD card solution will not come from Google on Honeycomb:

It will most probably come on Ice Cream Sandwich where both phone and tablet OS merged into one. That ICS must support current phone feature which has SD Card.

But manufacturers can add SD card support by them self. Hope this kind of "own-solution" does not delay upgrade to ICS when it is available!

So, I can imagine Samsung does not want to add SD Card port, not it's own solution. Like Xoom, until now it has non-functioning slot!

Most probably, the scenario will be like this:
- ICS is released
- Nexus tablet is announced
- Samsung "SUPER" Galaxy Tab 10.1 with ICS, Super Amoled Plus, SD-card ... bla bla
