I think you might have this backwards. In semaphore, 32 is listed as 'multitask'. Also, description for lmk is 'minimum free memory' so larger the number, more often it will kill apps.
I have mine set to 70 MB and it's very smooth. Haven't tried other settings but I'm guessing anything above 60 will have a noticeable effect.

Man...after a week with no phone of my own, and using my gf's Droid incredible intermittently, it's great to have my captivate back, with a working power button.
