[INFO]Official Transformer updates available on ASUS website

WARNING

Always be careful before flashing any kind of firmware. This may end up in bricking your device, loosing the possibility to root it or flashing/using a custom recovery

ASUS has finally released flashable firmware updates for the Transformer.

Just go to this ASUS support page, then choose "Android" from the "OS" dropdown menu, then click on the "Firmware" link and download the firmware you want.

To flash it, ASUS suggests to download the Update_Launcher_SOP_WW available under the "Others" subsection.

Steps of Update:
1. Download Eee Pad Transformer TF101 Firmware: V8.2.3.9 Only for WW SKU and Update Launcher SOP WW
2. Please follow the steps in the SOP manual to update the firmware.

※Firmware update can not do *SKU conversion*.
*How to check SW version of your Eee Pad Transformer TF101?
Path: Settings->About tablet->Build number
Example: You should be able to see the build number WW_epad-8.X.X.XX_2011xxxx, where “WW” means SKU.
You can only update your SW version on the Same SKU.

Hopefully this will help people with bricked transformers and everybody else trying to figure out a way to easily flash recovery and/or root devices with new bootloaders

My Transformer needs to charge 37%

I guess you just put the update.zip the root of an SD card and the OS detects that there is a firmware file present and it updates like an OTA

what does your about tablet say now?

Nothing different about it via settings , same as the OTA that bricked some peoples devices it seems

current build is HRI66.US_epad-8.2.2.6.1-20110325

I'm copying the update to a SD card (taking 10 minutes to copy )
Will update post after update completes with new build version.

EDIT: Successfully updated my US Transformer to 8.2.3.9-20110423
It fixed my camcorder FPS when recording video.
No more camera green screen.
Got MyCloud app (SplashTop Remote Desktop software)
Noticed Layar app was installed also.
Couple more ASUS Widgets (MyZine)

Hopefully will get rooted eventually
