car dock worth it?

i'm thinking about getting the car dock. from att it's about 40 bucks. i do drive quite a bit and sometimes to places that i don't normally go so i need to use google maps and the battery just drains when using gps.

so you guys think it's worth it?

I would, I love mine. It charges as its docked plays music through a built in AUX cable and even have a fancy interface built in when you dock it

However... don't use the bulit in GPS that comes up with the dock it sucks balls just use the regular google nav

I actually like the built in one, I appreciate that it has large buttons for traffic and nav. I don't really see many other differences besides that.

Oh, and I also recommend the car dock. I like how easily and securely my phone docks into it. I have a 45 minute commute with traffic, so I use my phone alot for music, podcasting, and traffic updates.

I also have tasker and have a highly customized profile that runs when my phone is docked in the car dock. (Enable Bluetooth, Enable GPS, Disable WiFi, turn ringer to full, turn notifications to full, turn media to full, disable lock screen {so I can turn off the screen if it bothers me without having to swipe my finger again to turn it back on}, run screen filter at night to further dim the screen)

does the oem car dock come with the car charger cable? i don't have a usb connection in my car.

IMO i think the car dock is awesome. I comes with a usb cable w/ a aux split, but it doesnt come with the cigarette lighter to usb adapter. You will have to buy some sort of adapter, att has one that has the USB spot that opens on top. Or you can just get a cheaper one from somewhere else.

Car dock is real worth it. I hate a lot of cords all over the place. Car dock has the charger and aux output in one cable. Its real worth it.

Where did you get yours from? I ordered one of Amazon and it came with a cigarette (12V) plug to two USB plugs, along with the USB splitter cord.

Yeah this looks very handy, setting it up now.

I love mine. I removed my garmin from my car because of it. I just wish google nav showed your current speed. Thats the only thing its missing IMO. Its a bonus if you know someone who works for ATT as well. Both the car dock and standard charging dock i have can be hard for like 28 bucks each...
