The phone's original IMEI is located on the sticker below the battery, at least on my unit.

There are good reasons to protect IMEI.

Protected by Law... depend on country...
Manufacturer...
Operator use IMEI to block handsets in their networks...
Yep, also stolen handsets can be blocked or identify...

On the other site, big business with IMEI change...
Sometimes user erase IMEI during Unlock or other manipulations... result is IMEI 00000000...

I've only read long time ago. That in India ... :
http://techchand.org/333/reactivate-...i-inplantation

I'll NOT support IMEI change...

Best Regards

@ mylove90

No panic. It's not your fault.

I mean 99,9 % not expect answers from me about IMEI (and Network Unlock).
Because tooo much trouble.

I'm from Germany.
I have no idea about other countries law.

But I'm pretty sure that NOT every one who need IMEI repair is an thief.
Also Software accident can lead to IMEI lost... or some Firmware Modifications, or some Commands... or Tools...

I have no idea, why manufacturer not really protect IMEI. Maybe 1 Chip for IMEI, not eraseable... for instance like oneNAND and RAM in Samsung CPU, but only not rewriteable. Also funny. IMEI on removeable Label...

Harhar.

Best Regards
