very wrong

the FPS are capped, they will not go up, but response and smoothness will

Yes, they're capped. But they're capped to 56fps.
A serious benchmark is glbenchmark, it normally stays around 30fps on our sgs. Try it

performance does not scale linearly with clock speed
this has been known longer than smartphones have existed

Yea, not linearly. But if my clock is 200% the original, i expect (at least) an improvement of 50% instead i can't see any difference

I do not want to provoke controversy, but the performance of the GPU are measured in frames per second, and these are the same before and after.

END our of discussion.

Seems like sparking controversy is exactly what you want to do lol!

I just had a question about the GPU clocks. I tried changing the GPU clocks to various speeds and it seems to do nothing. After reading some of the posts on here about it it seems that perhaps my phone just isn't capable of changing the GPU speed. That's perfectly fine with me if that is the case, but IDK. I have a Samsung Captivate. Perhaps a list of compatible phones could be made to ease the confusion.

As of right now, there are two kernels for the Samsung Captivate that currently support gpu overclock: Talon Kernel by existz, and Le Kernel Du Jour by TheEscapist. If you are running any other kernel, you should not have gpu clock options. If you do have gpu oc, you will most likely not notice a dramatic improvement since the fps limit is locked.

the thing is i noticed in quadrant ( i know ....) at the last graphic benchmark (DNA string) that usualy has a steady 28 fps , that if I increase the GPU to 250mhz i get 27fps, at 300mhz it bounces between 25-27... How wierd is that ?
