Arrow [Q] Newbie Questions about G2x

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum and I am trying to learn more about my G2x. I recently upgraded to the G2x from the G1 and I had a few questions... Sorry if they have already been answered:

1.) Why is there not a green notification light like the G1?

2.) On phone storage, I don't think my G2x came with a SD card. It says I have 5.44GB of total space on the phone memory, and 1.30 GB of available storage space on the phone. My question is: What space is the apps considered, and would having an SD card help with improving this? On my Google G1, I had an SD card; however, it would not use apps straight from the SD card and only "store" them there. I still had to use the phone memory/storage and because it was so limited, I could barely put anything on the phone.

3.) Any apps you think is a requirement with this phone? I got the Juice Defender to help with battery life and it seems to be working okay thus far.

Thanks for any and all help.

From my understanding the ext. sd card is useful for music, movies and pics, but not apps.

Free Market Apps I find useful include:

SetCPU = help conserve battery

Where My Droid = shows what is using your battery

AnTek App Manger = good for "freezing" apps the continually run that you do not use

and of course Rom Manager and Titanium Backup.
T-Mobile SDA --> Dash --> Dash 3G --> TP2 --> HD2 --> LG G2x (retired) --> Samsung Galaxy SIII

Thanks for the insight. So does my phone have enough space for a decent amount of apps, or will I be running into "space issues" in the next six months?

Thanks for the app tips as well. I'll look into them today.

That 1.3GB you see in the memory menu? That is the space you have left for all future apps. I'd say you have enough and don't need to worry about apps2sd.

Nexus 7 (16GB)

There is no notification light coz there is no led in the hardware. But to work around that you can go to this thread "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045982".

There are 3 types of storage on this device. The one which says "Internal Phone Storage" is your phone's internal memory. "Phone Memory" is your internal SD memory. and "SD Card" is external SD card if you put one in it. (Device does not come with it.) You can move your apps from internal memory to internal SD but not to External SD. IMO 1GB is also more than enough.
