Data connection/3G dropping after CM7+speedmod Flash
I posted in the forum and sent a PM to the dev but no one gave me any clues.
I flashed GB 2.3.4/CM7/SpeedmodKernel (comming from 2.2.1 Ultimate 8.2) following all the instructions as usual, after It booted up I was having issues with the 3G, so I tried about 10 different modems (including KC1 and JL2) and no-go. after I got to GB I found that the data connection was twitchy. The modem behaves intermittently, it switches to "H" with "no up/down arrows" (and it stays there, when normally it would only display "H" when TX/RX data. It gets stuck and get a connection error (browser/speed test/mail/etc) and switches to EDGE even though I've told it not to. I am running a 9000T version with 850MHz band 3G only. Whatever was changed in CM7 still follows me to every ROM I load.
I went back to my stock 2.1 i9000T FW via ODIN (with and without PIT) and same. Tried full factory restore, dalvik wipe, cache partition, factory reset, no-go. Tried my nanroid backup. Tried the magical JL2 and JK3 modems and same. Tried manually setting the 850 under *#BAND# (eclair/froyo), no go. Tried also the previous ROM that I had, 2.2.1, and switched to different modems and Still. I've noticed also that after a Modem change (lets say KC1), sometimes the baseband under "about" changes to another version (JK4 or something else). The modems that I've used have been re-packed to be used with CM7 and the ones for Froyo obviously for Froyo. APN settings are fine. Wi-Fi works.
I found these files under my /efs folder: cryptprop_applied_result, cryptprop_onetimeboot, and cryptprop_securewipedata, which weren't there before, I deleted them and restore my nv_data.bin ( I have a full /efs backup) and changed ownership just in case, no-go.
Somewhere in my SGS is still a file/s that has been modified by CM7 which I can't find, that is causing my 3G connection to fail.
Any ideas?

Odin should have removed any and all traces with a repartition with pit file only option I can therefore think of is wipe your sd card and flash a fresh rom again
This method worked for me a few times especially when I forget to disable lagfix

I have wiped the card about 6 times now. I have used either ODIN 1.7 and 1.8. I have also ticked the "Phone EFS clear" option, as I have copies of them, and restored the /efs, no go,
Last night I flashed GT_I9000_XWJVH_XXJVO_NEEJV3_Sbl (uploaded by Ramad), and it works great, with exception of the data issue. I even got my 3Button combo back (guessing that is the new BL).
I have even searched the /root directory and all the folders of the internal sd looking for unchanged files, nothing weird (for me).
thanks for your reply
