App2sd is exactly what is sounds like, it allows for you to move apps to your sd-card.
Dalvik2sd moves the dalvik cache to sd.
Ext (extended file system) is a type of partitioning that is needed to be done to your sd-card to implement app2sd on 2.1, if you however choose to flash a 2.2 or 2.3 rom, no partitioning of the sd-card is necessary to move apps.
Current:

  • Google Nexus 7 - ParanoidAndroid

Dalvik is part of what Android uses to run programs (it's pretty complicated) if you don't have a deep understanding of how OS and programs interact.

Moving the cache that Dalvik uses to the SD and off the internal phone storage, needless to say, frees up space on your phone.

You want to move the dalvik cache to SD or the system apps?

I don't think you can move system apps without flashing a different mod like CM.

Have you tried a2sdfroyo and NotEnoughSpace in the market?

Isn't there's an option of selecting which file you want to move to SD in "Link2SD".
You should have an options of 3 choices to tick with.
1) Link application file
2) Link dalvik-cache file
3) Link library files(if app uses library files)
With above options you would be able to move all installed app's data plus its associates files to SDcard.

*still you need to partition your SDcard to have Link2SD to work. But this is the best move since app2sd is not user friendly(it running in the background without user controlable) and froyo wouldn't move all user installed app as one thought of... froyo only give certain apps privillage to move files which depending on apps developer requirements.

I have mine running froyo yet still having link2sd installed for more user control of which file to move where...

After all, your SDcard should also in larger size(8GB or 16GB) to enjoy the moving apps freedom..
